ANTIQUE SIDEBOARD Entertainment Unit in MILTON, Queensland for sale

ANTIQUE SIDEBOARD Entertainment Unit
ANTIQUE SIDEBOARD Entertainment Unit
ANTIQUE SIDEBOARD Entertainment Unit
ANTIQUE SIDEBOARD Entertainment Unit

I have no idea what this is. Is it a sideboard, entertainment unit, bar or buffet unit or something else?
It is old, an antique, and maybe even shabby chic.
We used it as an entertainment unit.
The television would sit on the long flat part whilst the DVD player, VCR, CD player etc were on the shelf in the flip door underneath immediately underneath. There are holes cut in the back for all the cables to pass through. . That entire section can actually flip up if you want it to.
The drawers were where the kids stuck their Wii, playstation etc.
DVDs, games and toys and books were stored in the other areas.
Originally we used the bit that flips up as a place for our turntable (record player) and had records in the shelves around it.
This unit has a lot of space for storage.
The beauty of that is that (with the exception of the TV) everything else is hidden away behind doors, leaving nice clean lines and a lack of visual clutter in your room.
I don't know what era the unit is but at a guess it would be between the 1930s and the early 1950s. The legs on it are that sort of French provincial style.
It seems to be original although there are some plastic door hook plugs that keep the doors closed. The doors on the right have the standard old wardrobe locks on them. There is no key but those locks all had the same standard universal keys, if I recall. The other keyholes are for show.
I do not know what kind of wood it is made from but it weighs a lot. There is NO chipboard, particleboard or MDF here. There is some old school masonite on the back though. I assume the wood grain is a veneer but I'm not sure.
SIZE: This is one big unit. It is not separate units even though if you look at it, it looks as if it has 3 sections. Over all it is about 206cm long. The long flat bit where the TV goes is about 88cm long. it is about 46cm deep at its deepest in the middle section, whilst the sections on either side are a couple of cm less deeper. It has different heights. On the left to the top (not including the backboard) it is 53cm high, the middle section is 80cm high whilst the bit on the right is 151cm high.
CONDITION: its has it's bumps and scratches. A couple of the doors have splits in the wood. It is ready to be used as it is but if you wanted to take the time you could glue the splits, sand and revarnish the unit. The kids have scribbled in felt pen on the inside of a couple of the doors.
It would be perfect for someone who has a colonial or federation style house and wants an entertainment unit to fit in with the style of the house.
Two (strong) people will be required to move it.
